Associate Professor Daniel Kendoff, MD, PhD, worked for many years as an attending orthopaedic surgeon at the ENDO-Klinik, in Hamburg. He fulfilled a previous fellowship at the ENDO-Klinik and the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), New York, after finishing his residency in the orthopaedic trauma department at Hannover, Germany.
His clinical focus is primary and revision total knee and hip replacement and complex reconstructive orthopaedic trauma cases. The ENDO Klinik currently performs over 6000 total joint replacements and 1000 spinal interventions per year. Besides the clinical involvement, Dr. Kendoff became the scientific director of the ENDO Klinik in 2011. He has published more than 150 peer reviewed articles, written 9 book chapters and gained his "venia legendi" and associate professorship in the Hannover Medical School (MHH) in 2008.
His research includes all clinical arthroplasty science, as well numerous basic science studies in the complete field of orthopaedics, trauma and reconstructive surgery. This also includes the involvement of new technologies like computer assisted surgery (CAS), robotics and intra-operative 3-D imaging. Since 2001 he has focused in the clinical and research topic of CAS in orthopaedic surgery. He has been an active instructor of the AO, OTA, AAOS, ORS and given lectures at all relevant meetings in USA, Europe and Germany. Since 2009 he focused also on clinical investigation of modern blood management, oral antithrombotics and outcome of revisions for sepsis in one- and two-staged procedures in total joint care.
